Porter Cable Air CompressorsPorter-Cable CPLDC2541S 2.5 HP 4 Gallon Oil-Lube Air Compressor
Item model number: CPLDC2541S Price as of 03/05/08: $283.99 Description
From the Manufacturer Porter-Cable is proud to introduce our first oil-lube compressor. When we first put our engineers on the task of designing an oil-lube compressor we gave them one priority; it could not have the same imported pump as all the other major brands have.
So, in true Porter-Cable fashion the engineers came up with a completely different pump. Just as in a car, the lubrication system in the pump is the most vital part in a compressor.
That is why this unit was designed with a patent pending oil slinger design as an integral part of the crankshaft that continues to lubricate the piston in any angle. The robust connecting rod utilizes an oversized ball bearing for smooth operation under any condition.
The design features don't stop there; it boasts a cast-iron cylinder, stainless steel Swedish valves, and an automotive type paper filter to trap unwanted particles before they enter the system. The crankcase itself was designed to hold 8 ounces of oil, twice as much as in competitive models.
Now, take this revolutionary pump engineered to last over 3,000 hours of use and add in the "High Pressure Technology" and you have compressor that will run at 150 pounds per square inch (PSI).
The large bore and short stroke were design to pump out 5.4 standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM) @ 40 psi and 4.1 SCFM @ 90 psi. The 2.5 horsepower induction motor is safely shrouded and acts as a wind tunnel providing more than enough air to cool the unit down even under the most strenuous conditions. The 4.3-gallon side stack design comes complete with one high-flow quick-connect, a high-flow regulator, pressure gauge and tank gauge. This unit is perfectly equipped for all day every day usage.
