Hitachi makes several different table saws, from saws designed to be carried to different job sites to portable saws designed for typical home improvement projects to a 300 lb cabinet saw built to last under the strain of continuous use in a machine shop setting.

This Hitachi model has a table that can be extended to about 24-1/2". It comes with a 15 Amp Hitachi motor. Hitachi offers a five year warranty on this product, which sells for about five hundred dollars. It is reasonably easy to set up. The rip fence is self aligning. This saw is light because it is meant to be portable but that also means the base may not be able to put up with much abuse. It starts with a jump and the throat plate could be improved.

This model retails for about six hundred dollars. This mid-priced table saw comes with a 5 year warranty and an easy to follow owner's manual. Hitachi is known for long lasting motors and this one is no exception. The 15 Amp 5,000 RMP Hitachi motor doesn't quit. The fairly sturdy Carbide blade comes with a see through blade guard. This table saw has an effective dust collection system. The work table measures 34-inches wide by 19 5/8-inches long. It also has a pretty decent stand. It is a good deal for your dollar. It is small enough to be moved yet still big enough to do the work most homeowners need.

But it is very noisy. Accurate cutting can be difficult because the stops are not always on target. For a board larger than 2" the miter gauge maybe too short. When the blade is tilted a full 45 degrees the bevel lock is difficult to access. Also Hitachi's customer service leaves something to be desired.

This is a high-end saw that's worth every penny of its asking price - it sells for around 1,100 dollars. It is a professional machine that comes with a 2 - year warranty. The 15 Amp motor produces 3,450 RPMs and can deal with continuous use. It has a large cast iron table top measuring 27 1/8" by 40 1/8".

The saw has positive stops at 0,15,30,45 and 60 degrees both to the left and right. It weights 300 lb. It is a solid, long lasting piece of equipment. The machine has storage and is easy to assemble.
