Unfortunately, in the tool industry, manufacturers tend to label anything that is not bolted down as portable, and many table saws that are sold on this premise end up being bulky, hard to handle, heavier-than-steel models that threaten to slip a disc in one’s back from the effort of moving them from place to place. DeWalt went the extra mile with the DeWalt DW745 table saw, however, adding a bunch of bells and whistles its older counterparts were lacking, like a sturdy roll cage that protects the saw, just to mention one of the best improvements.  Although the rip capacity is declined on the DeWalt DW745 to 16” from 24 ½” on the earlier version, this is a small trade off for the other enhancements.

This DeWalt table saw has all of the features that any woodworker or carpenter would expect to find on a high quality DeWalt table saw – including standard-size meter slots that will fit most aftermarket accessories, easy depth adjustments, easy bevel adjustments, easy blade changes, and an easy to reach and easy to see power switch on the front of the saw.

The DeWalt DW745 also includes a 2 ½ inch hookup for dust collection, has a blade tilt of up to 45 degrees, and a powerful 15 AMP motor that can power through nearly anything that you throw at it.  With the purchase of your DeWalt DW745, you also get the peace of mind of a three year manufacturer’s warranty, as well as a miter gauge, push stick, and blade guard.  Although there are more expensive table saws on the market, for the basic do-it-yourself carpenter with his own workshop, or for a woodworker who needs a portable table saw that can be easily carried back and forth to the job site, you cannot beat the price and features of this DeWalt table saw.
