Miter Saw Acccessories

Your miter saw may very well be the most-used piece of machinery in your woodshop, and most serious woodworkers consider the miter saw their best friend.  The miter saw is useful for making angled cuts, trimming pieces to length, or shaving off that tiny fraction of wood that needs to go in order to obtain a good fit in your projects.  However, if you don’t have the appropriate accessories for your miter saw, you may not be getting all of the benefit that is possible from this power horse of a saw.  Let’s look at two miter saw accessories that can make your saw work even harder for you, make your cuts more accurate, and make using your saw more enjoyable.

Miter Saw Accessory Must-Have #1: Rousseau Down Drafter

Using your miter saw to make repetitive cuts that are accurate is easier when you use the Kreg Precision Measurement System which is a kit that includes an aluminum t-track built to fit with a ¾” fence.  The track is broken down into four two-foot long pieces to allow you to personalize it to your own need and includes a right and left reading measuring tape that rests inside the t-track structure.  Also included in the Kreg Precision Measurement System kit is two top blocks that slide and lock into the position that you need them to on the t-track.  This kit allows you to have the upper hand when cutting various pieces because you can slide the board against the stops and go back and forth between them as needed.
