Bosch Jig Saw Blades

Surprisingly, Bosch power tools were not established in America until 1980. Since then, the Bosch name has increased in reputation and become a much sought after brand.

The Jig Saw Performance

The jig saw is a small, power tool that is designed to make curved cuts.  It is capable of doing the curved cuts because the jig saw blade is narrow and moves up and down, rather than spinning.  There are many advantages for using a jig saw in comparison to other tools.  The curved cuts and ability to cut from the interior of your material make them more versatile than other power tools.  Using Bosch jig saw blades can improve the finish of your cut with their different teeth for the up and down strokes, leaving the edge smoother.

There are pitfalls that you should be aware of before using a jig saw.  Because of the narrow blades, they do tend to bend, leaving an angled cut.  If you are not careful they can also break.  Be sure you observe all safety precautions when operating a jig saw.  Protective eyewear is very important.  Bosch jig saw blades are designed a bit thicker to prevent bending and breaking.  This does minimize the amount of angle they will be able to perform, but in the end you have a better cut overall.

The most difficult cut for a jig saw is a straight line.  With the narrow blade, there is little to keep you from wandering a bit off line.  With the additional strength of the Bosch jig saw blades, your lines will not just be smoother, but will be closer to the mark.

Bosch is a top manufacturer and distributor of jig saw blades in the United States.  It is easy to see why with the superior performance they are capable of delivering.

Materials

Bosch jig saw blades come in two shanks, ‘U’ shank and ‘T’ shank.  They are designed to fit most jig saws and are color coded according to what they are designed to cut, as well as having the information printed right on the blade for easy identification.

The ‘U’ shank blades are available for such materials as woods, metals, and ceramics.  While the ‘T’ shank blades have a wider use, they too are available for wood, metals, and ceramics, in addition to fiber, plaster, and Plexiglas.  The ‘T’ shank Bosch jig saw blades also have specialty blades for soft materials such as leather, cardboard and carpet, and for solid surfaces such as Corian.
