Kitchen Cabinet Installation Instructions

Make certain that the wall behind the cabinets is clean, smooth, and level.  For bumpy areas on the cabinet wall, you can tap wood shims behind the cabinets to make adjustments.  Remember that upper cabinets are usually used for storing heavy items like dinnerware and canned goods, so be certain to secure these cabinets to studs in the wall.  You can use a stud finder to make for ease of finding the optimal place for mounting. Use three or more screws to secure each cabinet to the wall, making sure that 1 ½ inches in depth is reached with each screw into the stud.

It is crucial when installing your new kitchen cabinets that the first base and wall cabinets are installed plumb and level, from front to back and side to side.  This ensures that each additional cabinet will be aligned properly.  Once the frames of the cabinets are properly installed and leveled, you can place and secure the countertops, hang the doors and install the shelving and drawers.

This a very good post. This would greatly help do-it-yourself kind of people. Not only it would cut the cost in half in buying and contracting someone to do the job. It would also be fun thing to do and learn. Ask your friends to help you out and it would really be an enjoyable moment.
